Monday morning blues
I have heard my friends talking about the Monday morning blues though never experienced it because I am a sports lover and have always been active.
I love going to school so that I can play football in the field with my friends.
This Diwali we had a long weekend starting from Friday. I woke up late and lazed around the house eating huge breakfast prepared by my sweet mother. I was being pampered and cared for and was enjoying myself thoroughly. By Sunday I was getting used to my lazy ways. I had not touched my text books and had not picked up a pen to write a line or practice maths.
On Sunday night, mother asked me to prepare for school but I did not want to do it. Monday arrived with my mother shaking me awake and throwing the bedcovers away. I was pushed into the washroom. I came down for breakfast with a sad face. Mother gave me strong coffee and toast for breakfast. She wanted me to have almonds so that I would become energetic. I chewed my toast and gulped down the hot coffee. I was still feeling low when my little sister ran up to me with my football. A sudden burst of energy woke me from my lethargy. I picked up my satchel and ran for the school bus. I remembered I had not taken my history text book. I had to run back home.
I reached school, quite pepped up because my Monday morning blues had vanished into thin air. I collected all the boys and we had a nice round of dribbling before the classes started.
